Vicki Turnquist

A beautiful blonde in a hot pink dress and even hotter pink feather boa, takes the microphone and steals the show with a pitch perfect version of “I Feel Pretty’. The crowd goes wild. They yell for more. Thinking she must be a well-known cabaret star? Well, think again.  She’s a banker.

Meet Vicki Turnquist, this month’s  Multi-Tasking Woman in our spotlight,  and co-founder of the Private Bank of Minnesota, headquartered in Minneapolis. Vicki founded the bank in 1996 after working in the private financial sector with large banks for a number of years.  It was a huge step, but with her characteristic unflappable attitude and iron determination, Vicki, along with her equally committed partners, pursued their dream and eyes on the future, have never looked back.

Vicki’s philosophy around banking is about as bank-like as, well, a pink feather boa. "To me, banking is about people – about building meaningful relationships," Vicki says, "Private bankers play an essential role on a client's financial support team. We assist them in reaching decisions that make good sense for them and for the bank. It is gratifying when our clients achieve financial success and we know that we have helped."

Vicki’s also mother to two very successful multitasking women – Lindy and Amy.  They’re huge fans of hers, and they, along with Vicki’s sister Linda and lots of other friends and family, were in the front of the crowd cheering for Vicki on the day she sang and wore that pink feather boa.

Oh…and about that day.Vicki, as newly elected incoming President of the Minneapolis Rotary, was following their tradition of performing a humorous skit as part of passing the torch. And by the way…she really CAN sing. Multi-Tasking, multi-talented, and banking based on building relationships. She’s the kind of gal we love to hear singing our song!
